For Owners

Structured training designed to build obedience, improve behavior, and create lasting results for both dogs and their owners.

About Our Program

Forge’s Board & Train program is our most popular training option, trusted by the majority of clients seeking structured, reliable results. Designed for busy owners and dogs that require clear leadership, this program provides an immersive training experience focused on building dependable behavior and long-term obedience.

Dogs stay with us for the complete 4 or 6 weeks, where they participate in structured daily training sessions tailored to their individual temperament, behavior, and learning style. Through consistent repetition, real-world exposure, and professional guidance, we build the foundation for reliable obedience and improved behavioral stability.

What sets the Forge Board & Train experience apart is that owners remain an active part of the process. Each week, owners participate in a one-hour transfer lesson where they work directly with their dog under professional guidance, learning how to maintain the structure and communication that drives lasting results.

Throughout the program, we focus not only on teaching commands, but on building clear communication, reliable responses, and behavioral accountability that carry into real-world environments.

This balanced approach ensures dogs learn to respond not just to the trainer, but to their owner, creating results that remain consistent long after the program is complete.

Why Choose Our Board and Train Program?

Our board and train programs provide dogs with a structured environment focused on building reliable obedience, improved behavior, and better communication between dog and owner. Through consistent daily training and real-world exposure, dogs develop the discipline and confidence needed to succeed beyond the training environment.

Structured Daily Training

Each dog follows a disciplined daily training routine designed to build clear obedience, reliable behavior, and consistent structure.

Owner Transfer Sessions

We guide owners through hands-on sessions to ensure they understand how to maintain structure, reinforce training, and confidently handle their dog moving forward.

Real-World Exposure

Dogs are introduced to practical environments and everyday scenarios so their training remains reliable outside the training setting.

SOME Board and Train FAQs

Answers to common questions about our Board & Train programs, training process, and what to expect.

What types of behavior issues can Forge's Board & Train help with?

Our Board & Train programs are designed to address a wide range of common behavior challenges including leash pulling, poor obedience, lack of focus, impulsive behavior, jumping, and difficulty listening around distractions. By combining structured daily training, clear communication, and real-world exposure, we help dogs develop reliable behavior and improved responsiveness in everyday situations.

Will my dog only listen to the trainer after the program?

No. One of the core goals of the Forge Board & Train program is ensuring your dog responds reliably to you, not just the trainer. Throughout the program, we incorporate owner transfer sessions where you work directly with your dog under professional guidance. These sessions teach you the structure, communication, and handling techniques needed to maintain the training at home, ensuring the results carry into your everyday environment.

How long do the training results last?

Training results last when the structure and communication learned during the program are maintained. Our goal is not just to teach commands, but to help owners develop the leadership and consistency that sustain reliable behavior over time. When owners continue reinforcing the structure introduced during training, the results become part of the dog’s everyday routine.
